The Military - God bless 'em.

There are so many things I could put here, but for now I settled on this simple concept.
STOP SCREWING THE MILITARY!!!!

The most despicable thing I see happening to our military men and women occurs after they return home from duty.
The VA and Pentagon are rationing benefits to our wounded and retired veterans, and for what?
To save a few dollars?
Wow! Stop the presses!!! The Pentagon is gonna save us money!
Give me a break....

Look at the money our government spends on people in this country, starting with 20 million people here as criminal illegals.
Then look at Welfare and housing for the "poor" where they all have flashy cars, cell phones and video games.
Look at all the waste in entitlements and social programs to lift the burden of the "less fortunate" among us. (See Welfare tab)

Put Our Military Men And Women FIRST In Line
I challenge you to name one person, group or cause that deserves the benefit of abundant funding more than our military.
There should be an express lane in every grocery store, bank, restaurant and public business reserved for them exclusively.
In fact, I have a policy of buying dinner for any military man I see in uniform at a restaurant - be it a steak house or Taco Bell.
I get their tab from the waitress if I can, and try to be discreet about it. The money comes from my own pocket and is not deducted.
Next time you're in line someplace and a man in uniform walks up, try this;
Give him the spot in line ahead of you. See if others don't participate. Out of respect, they should be moved to the front of every line.

Here's what I propose.
Anybody serving in the military or honorably discharged gets REAL health care without rationing or waiting.
Anybody wounded in military service and unable to work as a result gets a handsome benefit paid each month to live comfortably on.
His wife and children will be included - unless she divorces him. If she leaves him and takes his children, she's on her own.
The same should apply for those retired from military service, and don't pull any sneaky sh!t on 19 year guys nearing retirement.

When ALL the needs of our brave men and women are met without hoops, hassles or qualifications we can go to the the next in line.
The elderly.
Social Security is a joke, and does NOT pay what a human being needs to live on. Raise the benefit for the retired and disabled the same way we just did for the military, and deny the benefit for those with wealth and assets aplenty. Those with the planning and forethought to have stashed cash to live on should get tax exemption after retirement. They've paid into the federal gov't their entire lives, enough is enough! Leave them alone so they can preserve their net worth and not wind up on Welfare.
NOBODY in this country deserves such consideration more than these two groups, and I don't care what anybody else thinks.

Third in line, a group consisting of our police and fire responders.
Fourth, teachers.
After that, all the other men and women working for the government in some capacity at the federal, state, county or city level.
Before you say I'm being too broad and generous, over-reaching my ability to reason this through, consider this; These people should be held to a higher standard, and paid in kind as long as they reach and maintain it. Dead weight, embezzlers, lifer/slackers, crooks, anarchists, nut-cases and undesirables should be fired and fend for themselves in the private sector, also known as the real world.

I'm sick of hearing about crooked cops, arsonist firefighters, and liberal idiot teachers pushing a Socialist agenda upon our kids.
Anybody who betrays the public trust in such egregious and shameless fashion should suffer considerable consequences.
Let the victims or their families decide how best to carry it out, as vigilante justice can be very swift and sure....

Painfully Expensive Social Programs
Placing such huge burdens on the federal government without a way to pay for them is silly, so here's where the money comes from;
Welfare.
Gut Welfare completely, and start over. Deadbeats, slackers, scammers, drinkers, dopers, irresponsible parents and any other malcontent waiting by the mailbox for a gubmint check should be cut off in one fell swoop. Take the time, make the effort, and determine once and for all who truly needs the assistance of Uncle Sam and then drug test those still left on the books. Allow them to work at something, anything to defray the cost of their benefit, and throw their asses into the street if they don't like it.
Hunger has a way of motivating people.
If they want charity they can go to church, or the first Liberal "humanitarian" they can find to see if they will hand anything out.

With all the money we could save, we could afford to give our military and elderly the benefits, dignity and respect they have EARNED.

Special Ops Rescue American Hostage in Nighttime Raid in Afghanistan
From the Army Times - Tuesday, November 11, 2008

An American engineer held hostage by Islamic militants in Afghanistan was freed in a daring nighttime raid by a Special Operations team last month, a rare move in a country where hostages often pay ransoms — or don't come home at all.

A team of about 30 special operators composed mostly of Navy SEALs flew into the mountains outside Kabul on October 14 to retrieve the 61-year-old American businessman, killing his captors and returning him to safety after nearly two months in captivity, according to an account in the Army Times.
"In my mind I'd given a military intervention a one out of a hundred chance," the unnamed engineer told the Army Times.

The Taliban have kidnapped aid workers and journalists in recent years, and aggressive crime syndicates target wealthy Afghans and foreigners for ransom money. "These fellows wanted either blood or money, and they weren't getting it that way," the engineer said. The captive, who has lived and worked in Afghanistan for eight years, didn't have much to offer. "This guy didn't have any money at all. It was like a personal life mission for him to help others," said Bruce J. Huffman, a spokesman for the Army Corps of Engineers in Afghanistan.

Militants from the Hezb-i-Islami (Party of Islam) kidnapped the man and an Afghan business partner August 20 on a road west of Kabul, according to the Army Times. He was treated "reasonably well" and was even allowed four cell phone calls to his wife, to whom he passed information in English, which the kidnappers did not understand.

The Afghan hostage was sold for a ransom. The American hostage told the Army Times he tried to escape, breaking free from his padlocks and running for cover in the nearest house, but was quickly spotted and caught by guards he said were 40 years his junior. But when the kidnappers left him in one location for a stretch of days, the special ops group choppered in, climbing thousands of feet toward a mud hut where the engineer was being kept, while a select team approached and killed the militants before they could fire back. The engineer was helicoptered back to safety that night and checked out by doctors at the U.S. embassy.

"I was in favor of that, 100 percent," he told the Army Times. "I was very surprised, very amazed and very happy."
